This is the process that needs to be followed if the server in Feering cannot be booted for any reason.
A new temporary server will be constructed from the server hardware held at Massenet, together with the external USB backup disk from the previous night and the file backups which are held on the Massenet server and are updated every 2 hours (9am, 11am, 1pm etc.)
Determine Process to Follow
If the host server boots up fine but there is a problem booting up the virtual server (ZTCSERV), then follow the steps in section 1.
If the host server won't boot, follow the steps in section 2.
SECTION 2: HOST SERVER WILL NOT BOOT
Detach USB Drive from Server
Detach the USB drive from the server. This will contain last night's backup and will be used to bring the backup server back to a state as of last night.
Get Backup Server from Massenet
Get the backup server from Massenet and bring it to Feering.
Plug in the USB drive from the real server into the backup server. Make sure you connect to a USB3 socket as this will make a considerable difference to the speed of the restore.
Power the backup server on (not necessary to connect to the network as yet).
Run Windows Backup on the Host Backup Server
The icon is placed in the taskbar.
Click Recover from the panel on the right-hand side.
Choose the option shown below.
Specify Location Type
Choose Local drives option.
Select Backup Location
The Backup program should see the backup disk similar to that shown below.
Note the date on the drive will be different.
Press Next to the screen below.
